Antique Roses Painting
This painting hung in a high end antiques gallery in Wrentham, Massachusetts until we purchased it. It actually was hanging sideways to it being pictured here. Since there is no artist signature, there really is no way to tell which side is up!
Dating this piece is difficult (as with most art) but we know it is definitely late 1800’s. How can we tell? Because this painting depicts what roses really looked like before they were hybridized.
We can also tell the age from the frame. Sometimes, the frame is worth more than the painting. This frame is original and is equally important to the piece. It has very minor damage to it, and does not impact the value. We paid a lot of money for this one and it has very little markup on it.
